HDH POPE ALICE CANONISATION: NATIONAL GALLERY OF VICTORIA

Posted 29/10/2014

In 1974 Alice Jitterbug visited the National Gallery of Victoria and was later that evening mistaken for Germaine Greer. It was a courageous act in a suppressive era in which transvestitism could incur the wrath of the Law and strong religious prejudice. This year HDH Pope Alice announced Alice Jitterbug's worthiness for sainthood and inclusion in the Cosmic Pantheon of Hallowed Eternals. HDH Pope Alice will proclaim Alice Jitterbug, Saint Alice, Queen of Hearts in a canonisation ceremony in the Great Hall of the National Gallery of Victoria on Friday 31 October as part of Friday Nights at Jean-Paul Gaultier.
