JUDY WATSON: MAJOR PUBLIC ART WORK COMMISSION, QUEENSLAND ART GALLERY / GALLERY OF MODERN ART, BRISBANE

 

Judy Watson has been selected to create a major public artwork to be positioned adjacent to the entry of Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). The Queensland Indigenous Art Public Art Commission provides a unique opportunity for a new commission by a Queensland-based Indigenous artist to coincide with the 10th anniversary celebrations of GOMA's opening. The sculpture will take the form of a bronze sculpture inspired by the traditional woven fishing nets of south-east Queensland’s Aboriginal communities. Read more.
