JUDY WATSON: major new public work commissioned by the City of Sydney
City of Sydney have announced a major new public art commission by Judy Watson for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, as part of their 'Eora Journey' public art program. The work, called bara, is based on the shape of fishhooks fashioned from shell used by Gadigal women. The work will be installed by mid-2020.
RAQUEL ORMELLA, TOM NICHOLSON: State of the Union, Ian Potter Museum of Art
Raquel Ormella and Tom Nicholson have been included in the exhibition State of the Union at the Ian Potter Museum of Art. The exhibition explores the relationship of artists to political engagement through a focus on the labour movement and trade unions, it runs 24 July to 28 Oct 2018. KHALED SABSABI: A Self Portrait, PICA
A Self Portrait; the biggest survey exhibition of Khaled Sabsabi’s work to date, featuring a new commission as well as several works not previously exhibited, has opened at Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts. The exhibition runs until 7 October 2018. More information can be found here.

Khadim Ali: 'New Sacred' at Mosman Art Gallery
Work by Khadim Ali will be included in New Sacred at the Mosman Art Gallery. The exhibition is a partnership between Mosman Art Gallery and Parramatta Artists Studios and surveys contemporary Australian art practices that engage in storytelling through ritual, folklore, and cultural traditions. The exhibition runs from July 14 until 8 September 2018.
