The work of Gordon Bennett, Ian Burn, Eugene Carchesio, Luke Roberts, Tim Johnson, Vernon Ah Kee, Sandra Selig and Stuart Ringholt features as part of 'Sugar Spin', a large-scale and ambitious exhibition featuring work from the QAGOMA collection and new commissions, such as Judy Watson's 'tow row' 2016. The exhibition is situated at the Gallery of Modern Art and is part of the Gallery's tenth birthday celebrations 'GOMA Turns 10'.
VERNON AH KEE: NOT AN ANIMAL OR A PLANT, NATIONAL ART SCHOOL
The National Art School in Sydney has announced a survey exhibition of the work of Vernon Ah Kee, as part of the 2017 Sydney Festival. Covering all periods of Ah Kee's significant career to date, the exhibition is entitled 'not an animal or a plant' and will run from 1 January to 11 March 2017. 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the 1967 referendum which recognised and included Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the national census.
ROSS MANNING & JEMIMA WYMAN: INSTITUTE OF MODERN ART 2017 EXHIBITIONS
An ambitious solo exhibition of recent work by Ross Manning has been announced as part of the Institute of Modern Art's 2017 exhibition program. The show will run from 5 August – 28 October. Earlier in 2017 the IMA will also present a group exhibition entitled 'Material Politics' featuring the work of Jemima Wyman. Read more.
