The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney, Tate, London, and Qantas have today announced new Australian artwork acquisitions for their International Joint Acquisition Program. Included in the fourth round of acquisitions are Dale Harding's The Leap/Watershed 2017 and Robert Hunter's Untitled 1968. More information can be found via the

Two works by the late Robert Hunter will feature in the exhibition 'The Distillation of Light' at the Latrobe Regional Gallery, Victoria. Exhibited alongside the work of Suzanne Moss, the Hunter's works and the exhibition in general considers his fascination with where colour begins and where it ends, how it resonates and its impact on perception and experience. The exhibition opens 16 May and runs until 12 July 2015.
Taking it all away presents works drawn from the Museum of Contemporary Art Collection that explore the different effects of erasure, abstraction and the social impact of art. Featuring work by Gordon Bennett, Christian Capurro, Robert Hunter and Stuart Ringholt, the exhibition considers shared ideals and utopias, as well as art's agency in society.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Hunter on September 23, 2014. Robert was best known as Australia's most committed minimalist painter. His restrained work came to the attention of the public during The Field exhibition, which opened the NGV St Kilda Road in 1968.
