EMORY DOUGLAS: ANNOUNCED AS 2015 AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF GRAPHIC ARTS MEDAL WINNER
Emory Douglas has been announced as a 2015 American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Medal winner. The medal of AIGA—the most distinguished in the field—is awarded to individuals in recognition of their exceptional achievements, services or other contributions to the field of design and visual communication. ROSSLYND PIGGOTT: 21ST CENTURY HEIDE
Rosslynd Piggott features as part of the exhibition '21st Century Heide: The collection since 2000' at the Heide Museum of Modern Art, Victoria. The exhibition will showcase over 1500 works that have been accquired since the turn of the century, including Piggott's work Tremor. '21st Century Heide' runs from 28 March until 14 June.
JUDY WATSON: WINNER OF THE AUSTRALIA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS VISUAL ARTS AWARD 2015
It is with great pleasure that we announce that Judy Watson has been awarded the 2015 Australia Council for the Arts Visual Art Award. The Australia Council Visual Arts Awards acknowledges the exceptional achievements of an Australian artist and an arts professional who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of Australian art. Judy was presented with the award on Thursday 19 March.
STUART RINGHOLT: NAKED TOUR OF 'JAMES TURRELL: A RETROSPECTIVE', NATIONAL GALLERY OF AUSTRALIA
Stuart Ringholt presents his ongoing work Preceded by a tour of the show by artist Stuart Ringholt, 6-8pm. (The artist will be naked. Those who wish to join the tour must also be naked. Adults Only.) 2011-ongoing as part of the National Gallery of Australia's current exhibition 'James Turrell: A Retrospective'. Visitors will be invited to join Ringholt on a nude tour of the exhibition, with three separate opportunities to tour the show.
