ROSS MANNING: DARK MOFO

Ross Manning has been announced as one of the participants in DARK MOFO, a project of the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart. Manning will present recent works including Dichroic filter piece 2013-14 and Sad Magick 2009 in disused and abandoned tunnels beneath Hobart. VERNON AH KEE: WINNER OF THE REDLANDS KONICA MINOLTA ART PRIZE 2014

Vernon Ah Kee has been awarded the Redlands Konica Minolta Art Prize 2014 for his work Lex Wotton 2013. The work is a portrait of Lex Wotton, Palm Island resident and activist who was involved in the civil unrest on the island in 2004. Read more via Blouin ArtInfo.

TOM NICHOLSON: TEN THOUSAND WILES AND A HUNDRED THOUSAND TRICKS

Opening at the Beirut Art Center on 1 April, Ten thousand wiles and a hundred thousand tricks is part of the seventh edition of Meeting Points, a multidisciplinary contemporary arts festival focusing on contextualized presentation of art from the Arab World. Tom Nicholson is exhibiting alongside a diverse range of artists. The exhibition is curated by curated by What, How & for Whom/WHW, a curatorial collective formed in 1999 and based in Zagreb and Berlin. Read more.

MY COUNTRY: CONTEMPORARY ART FROM BLACK AUSTRALIA

'My Country: Contemporary Art from Black Australia' opens tomorrow Friday 28 March at Auckland Art Gallery Toi O Tamaki. The exhibition presents over 100 works by over 40 artists, including Gordon Bennett, Vernon Ah Kee, Richard Bell, Judy Watson and Gordon Hookey. My Country showcases the breadth of recent work by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, and the connections the artists have with their land and nation. The exhibition runs until 20 July 2014.

Jon Cattapan presents 'Monotypes' at the Scuola Internazionale Di Grafica (SG Gallery), Venice until 29 March 2014. The work featured in the exhibition has been developed as part of Cattapan's residency at SG Gallery. The new series of works focuses on figurative explorations very loosely based around dream-like encounters of a nocturnal Venice. Read more

Opening next Friday 21 March, the 19th Biennale of Sydney features 90 artists from 31 countries. As part of Juliana Engberg's artistic direction 'You Imagine What You Desire', Daniel McKewen and Ross Manning will be presenting work across a variety of venues.
