STUART RINGHOLT: NATURIST TOUR AT THE MCA

Stuart Ringholt will host a naked art tour through the new Museum of Contemporary Art. Participants will gain a new perspective on the current MCA exhibitions by viewing them entirely nude. Remove the material barriers between artist and audience (literally) when you join artist Stuart Ringholt’s tour followed by a nude reception. Entitled Preceded by a tour of the show by artist Stuart Ringholt 6-8pm (the artist will be naked. Those who wish to join the tour must also be naked. Adults only) the work deals with themes of fear and embarrassment.

VERNON AH KEE: Shadowlife @ Bangkok Arts & Cultural Centre, Bangkok

Work by Vernon Ah Kee is currently on display as part of Shadowlife, a touring exhibition facilitated by Asialink. The exhibition will showcase works by nine internationally renowned contemporary Australian Aboriginal artists (and one non-Indigenous collaborator) engaged in photo-based practices.

Judy Watsons work is currently on display at The Valencian Institute for Modern Art, Spain. JEMIMA WYMAN: Panorama

Work by Jemima Wyman is currently being exhibited as part of the Panorama: Are we there yet?exhibition at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. The exhibition explores  issues pertinent to contemporary Australia – identity, environment, history and politics. Panorama is the metaphorical term for viewing a long process from beginning to end. Whether this process be a life experience of political, moral or environmental nature, your view in the beginning will often change by the time you reach the end.

Richard Bell in Edge of Elsewhere

Richard Bell will exhibit  in the third and final installment of Edge of Elsewhere, opening at Campbelltown Arts Centre as part of the Sydney Festival. Bell will present an installation of films and documentation surrounding the protests against the 1982 Commonwealth Games. The works include a forum on January 14 where panel members will discuss if Aborigines as a people are better or worse off than they were in 1982. The exhibition opens on January 13.
