Hollow Mark: Madeleine Kelly @ Griffith University Art Gallery
A solo exhibition of new and recent works by Madeleine Kelly opens next month at the Griffith University Art Gallery. HOLLOW MARK will feature a group of major new paintings by Kelly, as well as recent light - based works. The exhibition will be accompanied by a new publication with a text by Abigail Fitzsimmons. Damiano Bertoli: Reason & Rhyme
Damiano Bertoli will exhibit work as part of an upcoming exhibition at ST PAUL ST Gallery, Auckland New Zealand. Reason and Rhyme brings together work by nine Australian and New Zealand artists to 'investigate the urge to structure and channel creative production through systems, grids and frameworks'. Louise Hearman & Raquel Ormella: UQ National Artists' Self Portrait Prize
New works by Louise Hearman and Raquel Ormella are on display at the University of Queensland Art Museum as part of the National Artists' Self Portrait Prize 2011. The artists were invited to make new works for the biannual, $50 000 prize, the winning work will also be acquired for the University Art Museum's National Collection of Artists' Self Portraits. This year's exhibition has been curated by Alison Kubler, around the theme of 'Life is risk/Art is risk'. Eugene Carchesio and Richard Bell: Basil Sellers Art Prize 2012
Eugene Carchesio and Richard Bell have been selected as finalists for the 2012 Basil Sellers Art Prize. The biannual, $100 000 prize seeks to 'encourage contemporary artists to engage with the many themes within sport past and present, and to contribute to critical reflection on all forms of sport and sporting culture in Australia'. The winner will be announced at the opening of an exhibition of shortlisted finalists' work at the Ian Potter Musuem, University of Melbourne, in August 2012.
