The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney, Tate, London, have announced their new Australian artwork acquisitions for their International Joint Acquisition Program. Included in this are The Aftermath and the Ikon of Fear (1984–5) by Vivienne Binns,  Jabiluka UO2 by Bonita Ely (1979), and  Snare (1972/2019) and But the Fierce Blackman (1971/2011) by Peter Kennedy.

The work of Gordon Bennett, Eugene Carchesio, Sam Cranstoun, Peter Kennedy, Nigel Lendon, Stuart Ringholt and Jemima Wyman features as part of I Can See Russia From Here, curated by Chelsea Hopper at TCB, Melbourne. The exhibition includes the works of Australian artists who reference, are influenced by, or engage a “Russian imaginary”, as this year marks the centenary of the Russian Revolution. The exhibition runs from Wednesday June 7 - Saturday June 24 2017.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney, Tate, London, and Qantas have today announced five new Australian artwork acquisitions for their International Joint Acquisition Program. Included in the second round of acquisitions are Richard Bell's Embassy 2013-ongoing and Peter Kennedy & John Hughes' On Sacred Land 1983-84.

Curated by Matthew Perkins the three part exhibition 'Red Green Blue: A History of Australian Video Art' being held at Griffith University Art Gallery will run from Thursday 30 March to Saturday 8 July. Its three 'episodes' map a thematic history of video art in Australia from the 1970s until the present. Episode one 'Red: Everything is Political' runs until Saturday 29 April and includes artists Peter Kennedy, Bonita Ely and Kate Beynon.

The work of Vernon Ah Kee, Richard Bell, Peter Kennedy and Raquel Ormella features as part of the upcoming group exhibition 'See you at the barricades' at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney. Opening 30 May, the exhibition calls attention to a ‘dissident aesthetic’ emerging in contemporary art. Increasingly, artists are adapting images of 20th-century protest movements, using flags and banners, and re-enacting historical protests.

Peter Kennedy's work will be the subject of a major, upcoming solo exhibition at the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane. Light Years 1970-1 will restage works from three solo shows the artist mounted in 1970 and 1971, which contained pioneering examples of installation, light, performance, and sound work. A major neon installation by Peter Kennedy was recently exhibited at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne. People who died the day I was born- April 18, 1945 (part 2), was shown as part of Mortality, a group exhibition featuring works by Australian and international artists that address themes of spirituality, death and the afterlife.
