Richard Bell has been annouced as part of the first group of artists selected to particpate in the 20th Biennale of Sydney, opening 18 March 2016. Curated by Stephanie Rosenthal and titled 'The Future is Already Here - It's Just Not Evenly Distributed', the exhibition will span seven venues conceived as 'embassies of thought'. Richard Bell will exhibit  in the third and final installment of Edge of Elsewhere, opening at Campbelltown Arts Centre as part of the Sydney Festival. Bell will present an installation of films and documentation surrounding the protests against the 1982 Commonwealth Games. The works include a forum on January 14 where panel members will discuss if Aborigines as a people are better or worse off than they were in 1982. The exhibition opens on January 13.

Art + Soul on ABC 1

Richard Bell and Judy Watson feature in a new documentary series screening on ABC1. Written and presented by Hetti Perkins, curator of Indigenous art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Art + Soul is a three part documentary series that considers the practice of a number of leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from across the country. The series is accompanied by a major new publication from Melbourne University Press, as well as an exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Art + Soul, ABC1, Thursday, 8:30 pm.

Vernon Ah Kee, Richard Bell and Gordon Hookey are exhibiting drawings as part of Jus' Drawn at the Linden Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne until 12 September. Jus' Drawn considers the drawing practice of the Brisbane based Indigenous artists' collective ProppaNow. Following his residency and exhibition I am not Sorry at Location One, the American Federation of Arts (AFA) is touring an expanded version of the show, curated by Maura Reilly, to six locations in North America. The exhibition title is Uz vs Them. Further details to be announced.

An exhibition of Richard Bell's work will go on display at Location One, New York in October. Curated by Maura Reily,  Richard Bell: I Am Not Sorry will feature works from the early 1990s through to the present, and will be accompanied by a new publication on Bell's work.  Bell is also the recipient of Location One's International Fellowship for 2009-10. Awarded to an outstanding mid career or established artist by Location One's international committee, Bell will begin the ten month residency in New York this October.
